Sure enough after I complain about not being able to download the driver I try for the nTH time and it works. Sigh... Good thing the Star Wars DVDs for Episode's 4 5 amp 6 come out in a month. That'll help soothe the painful existence of my life until Revenge of The Sith comes out in May 2005. lol

This link is slow even on a wide pipe... Just a flash from Trident's own site oh well.P133 w32MB and Win98SE stalls quite often 3 min presumably a driver conflict DirectX.Hopefully this version fixes this.

To use this file place it in your c WindowsSystem folder and reboot..and don't be a noob read the rest of the posts B4 U CRAP ON WHOEVER SENT IN THE FILE. it says the file is not a driver its a waveset .. it worked for me

Thank you I have spent about 3 days trying to get the sound card on this integrated motherboard to work after I upgraded from Win95 to 98 but only to no avail. The Cmedia download website was of no help since the transfer rate was so slow. This worked bbbeautifully and I am indeed grateful.Procedure step1. download the zip file.step2. download turbozipstep3. unzip the files to newfolderstep4. Extract the unzipped file to c windowstempstep5. Go to systemdevice manager and remove sound card and its associates.step6. Turn off computer and turn on and the card will self install. If it ask for the win98 cd then go to browse and selct c windowstemp where the extracted files are and then it will continue by itself.

I too have a PlexWriter 241040 that was not being recognized until I installed this driver upgrade plus my old CDROM driver was now recognized as the slave. Plus it seems to make my HDD readwrite faster. My PC is a PIONEX 333 MHz using a Cyrix MII 686 CPU.
