I transfered a Vibra 16 soundcard from a previous system onto my new one. I was running windows 95 and the soundcard worked fine. Now on a system with windows 98 I do what it says in the accomanying 'read me' file with this download I restart windows and when adding new hardware to complete the process the soundcard is recognized as installed I get the message The drivers for this device are not installedCode 28. To reinstall the drivers for this device click reinstall drivers. I can't figure this out can someone help as I would like to use my old soundcard instead of buying a new one.

thanks... It was difficult to find old drivers....Had amazing problems trying to find the correct modem drivers. Most OmniBook XE2 have ESS Technology modem and sound cards. Simply go to httpwww.esstech.comtechsuppfaqidentify.shtm and let it identify your make and model for you by following onscreen instructions VERY HELPFUL

Phil i cant thank you enough. Im sure hacking into the frigging CIA would've been easier. Due to the jerkoffs at Creative i've had to install Win XP Pro on my P II 350. Now i can finally let my machine breathe and get back to 98SE.

When I installed Win'98se detected the hardware went to look for drivers but wouldn't accept the one I downloaded here. When I forced it up flashed a message about them not being the right drivers for my hardware. The FCC number matches that given above exactly although the chipset is a 1648CTV5. Any suggestions Do I have a fried modem
