This driver is safe and it works very well thanks for poting it on here DannyMather Wrong driverInstall was a little painful. Setup would not run. Had to update driver from Device Manager. Once that was done and system rebooted all was fine. This was with Windows 2000

Michael You're a Legend.... Thank You for going to the trouble of this home made special.... Worked fine on a 7500 as you mentioned it asked for a file twice. I skipped it the second time as suggested the modem did not install fully exclamation mark in device managerI then updated the driver from within device manager using the same drivers and ....magic.. it asked for the Country AU in my case and then that was it... worked like a charm.....Thanks Again

The quotUSBUARTController.exequot drivers worked with Windows XP SP2 using a generic DKU5 data cable purchased on eBay and my Nokia 3589i phone. YMMV but here's what I did1. Connected USB end of generic DKU5 cable to PC phone NOT connected to cable. Windows XP hardware discovery found cable as unknown quotUSBUART Controllerquot device but no suitable driver was found.2. Googled for quotusbuart controllerquot and found it's a chip made by quotArkMicroChipsquot. Googled for quotArkMicroChips usbuart controllerquot and found quotUSBUARTController.exequot available at www.charydent.com. 3. Downloaded quotUSBUARTController.exequot from www.charydent.com and extracted its drivers into temporary folder on PC.4. Restarted PC with generic DKU5 cable connected phone NOT connected and cable rediscovered as unknown quotUSBUART Controllerquot device. Pointed hardware installer at temporary folder containing quotUSBUARTController.exequot drivers and they installed normally. Generic DKU5 cable then appeared in Device Manager gt Ports COM amp LPT as quotDKU Connectivity Adapter Cable COM4quot.5. From www.nokiausa.com downloaded and installed current quotDriver for the Nokia DKU5 Cablequot then downloaded and installed current quotPC Suite 6.84quot. NOTE PC Suite installed another Nokia DKU5 cable driver visible in AddRemove Software but it didn't conflict with anything. 6. Restarted PC with generic DKU5 cable connected phone NOT connected. Launched Nokia PC Suite and opened its Connection Manager. The quotSerial Cable DKU5 CA42quot option was checked highlighted it and clicked quotConfigure...quot button. In dropdown list confirmed that quotDKU5 Connectivity Adapter Cablequot was selected and clicked OK. In Connection Manager quotUSB DKU2 CA53quot option was also checked but no configuration was possible.7. With PC Suite still open and generic DKU5 cable connected attached Nokia 3589i phone to the generic DKU5 cable. Using PC Suite's quotGet Connected...quot buttonwizard the 3589i phone was recognized by and works with PC Suite 6.84 but I have not tried all of its functions.The older version of Nokia PC Suite 6.6 for Windows 2000XP download from httpdrivers.myfreewares.com also works with this setup. Just install it as noted in Step 5 above.
