Didn't work for me but i found a working driver on the intel site. only for a RC440BX motherboardfor my onboard videocard. driver for onboard soundcard is also available here

I want to thank punisher for posting his solution to my problem. It definatley relates I have an LTN 486 CDROM and mine also just simply disappeared. The bios recognized it but windows would not. I tried his solution by going into the registry and deleting the two items he recommended and it worked I have been at my wits end trying to retrieve my D drive trying to locate drivers very unsuccessfully and this actually worked I didn't need any drivers. THANKS
