I used this this driver and other .ini and .dll files to get my basic USB 640X480 Web Cam working under Windows XP Pro. Installation was very easy once the varous files had been collected together. Since installation the web cam has not given any problems att all.

There are 2 ways to install1. Insert hardware and let windows detect device at login. Then click the quotNew Hardwarequot notification on the task bar. Follow the prompts until you reach the point where it asks if you wish to browser for the driver yourself. Select that option and goto the directory where you extracted the files from zip. Once you have done that continue on with hardware set up. The driver should install once completed.2. Right click quotMy Computerquot and select properties then go to hardware and device manager. In device manager go under quotModemsquot or quotUnknownquotIn Unknown it should appear as a comunication device and select the device. Right click it and go to properties drivers and update driver or reinstall. Once hardware set up opens follow the instruction as I presented in methode 1.Note This driver is also compatible with Windows Vista Beta 2 if anyone is using it or going to.

I have the same problem as you guys. I need the driver for a Sampo alphascan 511 but all i get from his file and another from teh Sampo website is an inf file... I need the driver. For now my monitor is working with a alphaScan Plus driver. Not perfectly though.Rule number 1. Have fun.

I really thought this was it but I still can't get over the PCI comunications device problem. I know the modem actualy 'resides' on the other side of this PCI port. If anyone knows how to fix this in 95 or 98 let me know. Big thanx

It works great but just to let you know you don't have an install option you just use the quotadd hardwarequot option in quotcontrol panelquot to find the downloaded folder.
