Driver is good for this hp 533w running xp home edition. You have to use some user intervention by unzipping it to a specified directory going to that directory then running the setup installer. If you can get that done the rest is automatic. Good Driver.

well i tryed it on a compaq deskpro with i815 chipset .. sound wasnt working in win98 .. in xp the driver name was just like this driver name ... Pcchips AC97 801 AA .. the instaler worked ok .. the sound card dint work that's it

After hours of trying to install with what i didn't realise was the wrong disk I finally got thereno thanks to Creative LabsWhy dont they put these on their website If you are trying to install your platinum 5.1 drivers I can tell you that these work perfect. I tried downloading it and received the same error mentioned by ed and SteveM. I did find a more complete download at www.americas.creative.comsupportfilesdownload4.aspcentric17 try it. check the downloaded file name to see if it includes the .exe extension if it does not be sure to add the .exe extension before attempting to execute it so you can run the file.success.NOTE be sure to have your winme disk on hand since you will need it for a couple of the files.
