Would not install despite trying many things.It would stall when it reached choosing port would only accept File option then error messages about various files.Also tried compatibility wizard also no luck.

Well actually it was a windows 98 se installation running under VmWare Workstation 5.5 and I needed the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audio PCI driver the package worked like charm now I have sound under the guest op system.

I just read the DVD FAQ's at Hitachi.com's web site and I'm 90 sure that your problem is that you need a need a DVD decoder card to connect to rather than your ide connector on the motherboard you can't connect it like a harddrive although the cables are the same. I have a video card that has a built in DVD decoder or MPEG connector. If you go to ebay and search on mpeg under video cards with search details selected you'll probably find several up for sale but if they give you a video downgrade by not even being AGP your'e probably better off to buy a seperate card to support the DVD drive.Good Luck Archie

This link is slow even on a wide pipe... Just a flash from Trident's own site oh well.P133 w32MB and Win98SE stalls quite often 3 min presumably a driver conflict DirectX.Hopefully this version fixes this.
