Would not install cleanly. On reboot Win ME would freeze on the logo screen. had to reboot in safe mode and use system restore.

Where are the passwords for the site .... or is it just me Everytime I try to DL the driver I am faced with a password and user for that specific driver.Please help out.I tried this for a Compaq Deskpro EN 1 ghz which has a 240762001 motherboard with onboard sound. I was using the quotGood Timesquot MPEG from the Win95 CD for testing. Although the sound played without skipping Edie sounded like she had just inhaled helium.

I loaded the driver using the Udate Driver wizard. The driver appears to load correctly but when I enable the XWAVE PCI Sound device the PC freezes and a rapid tone beep can be heard through the speakers. I then have to cold boot the system into safe mode Win98 and disable the XWAVE PCI Soind device. There appears to be an IO conflict that I am able to resolve by setting the configuration manually but the problem persists. The PC just over 1yr old and is a clone AMD K2450 with 32MB and 8GB. The hard drive was just replace due to a crash with the original. There is no other sw installed other than Win98 SE and AOL 5.0. I have not removed and reseated the sound card yet. Does anyone have any suggestions

Well up to now all the drivers i have obtained from this site has worked fine. All you need to do is read the reviews form others before downlowding just to be sure....

Unzipped. Installed from setup.exe rebooted worked fine. This was FM801AC chip on PCI card.
