This is a clone of a PC Tel HSP56 although said drivers are not compatible with this actual hardware. This modem is preinstalled in the Compaq Presario 5000 model 5BW250. This modem in general is a pain in the butt to install because it sucks so badly.

Yes it works with Windows XP on Compaq Presario laptop computer. This is one of the cases where Compaq Presario support pages can not point to this SoftPaq and we have to find it through DriverGuide.Com

That driver has saved many people and I am one. Sony has a horrible policy for 2000 support. I just waited an hour on hold. When they answered they said there was no way for them to help me and I would have to buy the F590K instead of the F590. I still can not find the drivers for the MPEG capibilities. Can anyone help

I was told by Ezonics that you had the driver here. Odd the company doesn't have it at their site. I hope it works. Upgrading to Win 2000. Thanks to the folks at charydent.com for helping to make our lives easier.

Loaded this driver on compaq presario that I took off the compaq BS.It has a SB audio pci 128. It worked better than the compaq supplied drivers.
