works like a charm Picked up the unit in a local thrift store and paid only 5 euros for it. Found a matching powersupply at a nearby flea market two weeks later set me back another 2 euros.Now running this driver I scan relatives' old photos of which no negatives remained and doing fine

Thank you for submitting the above driver. I have a presario laptop 1235. Compaq technician recommended me to use sp6507 but this driver had file download transfer error. So I could not use it. I took Levi's suggestion and download sp6333 from Panasonic Matsushita Matshita website by using my desktop and created a diskett. Bring that diskett into the laptop and opened file. The rest is fixed. Thank you very much. You save my laptop. I will refer the problems to Panasonic Matsushita Matshita website.

HPCompaq site says that they don't recommend installing WIN2K on the Presario 7478. I don't know why but it worked PERFECTLY for me. I made sure to verify that I had the VIA 8501 chipset. Then I extracted the files to a temp directory and ran Setup.exe it automatically installed and prompted for restart. Upon reboot it came up with a nice blue background which indicated that it worked. All I had to do was rightclick on the desktop and select PROPERTIES and the SETTINGS TAB and set my SCREEN AREA and COLORS appropriately. I did sign up for the HP site survey and told them how I felt about their lack of support.

Perfect. Installed clean copy of Win2000Pro and was left with 16 color max on VGA adapter. Found VGA driver for specfic model of Compaq.

This Vibra16S sound card must be installed first with the dos based drivers followed by the configuration of Windows for a SB16 or AWE32 card with assigned resources. A real pain to figure out at first.PERFECT OPTION OF DRIVER
