I had erased the HDD because it contained WIN98 Japanese and I could not upgrade it with WIN98 English. And of course a FDISK got rid of all the drivers.Video went back to VGA16 basic colors sound no longer worked builtin modem no longer worked... None of the devices worked. Hitachi USA could not help because the computer was made in Japan and Hitachi Aisa was not responding to my emails. By downloading the Driver Toolkit I was able to know what physical devices were installed inside the computer. I began using that info to track down the appropriate driver through trial and error. So far I have found the correct drivers for audio and video.

After extensive searching the Asus website i found this driver xp says that it won't work but advice from another source said install it anyways so i did and it works fine.xp promises the correct one to be sent to me in the bye and bye
