For all you guys that cannot get this or any other hardwaresoftware to work in XP try using compatability mode to run your drivers and software. Choose the OS for which the drivers etc. were made for and XP will usually run it OK. The term usually used very loosely....lol PS for all you people out there looking for ANY kind of hardware drivers when requesting them you need to include the numbers on the main chips..ieConexant RH56DPCI R679512 AND any brandmodel markingsstickers on boards. Most modems will have good functionality if you at least use the chipset makers refrence drivers. Match the chip 's on the manuf. website..ieConexant.com or a google search. One more thing...about all pci modems they HAVE TO BE DETECTED BY WINDOWS TO WORK PROPERLY. Do not use the setup.exe to install in windows those are generally for DOS functions. You have to install card boot windows and point it in the direction of you drivers..like floppy cdrom or file path. And Yes they are supposed to detect as either PCI Communication Device or a number of other device descriptions just make sure windows finds the drivers and you may have to check the display list of all driversetc instead of letting windows search and choose ok at the warning that the drivers were not made for your hardware. If the drivers are COMPLETELY WRONG for your hardware the hardware list window will usually be blank. If you have a really tough driver problem feel free to email me but be patient as I get a lot of emails for help so it might take a little time but I will try to reply to let you know I have recieved you mail. JUST PLEASE put something like driver help or similar in the subject line so I don't think it's spam or those fantastic opportunities from those high gov. officials in Nigeria...lol

this is a VXD driver good till W98 for W98SE and up I had better result with 8330wdm417.zip WDM drivers from CMedia

No need this driver use Direct CD and Easy CD software works great with this drive 7 min to burn an audio cd for myself at 8x no problem

I keep getting a message on startup ATAPI IDE CDROM Device not loaded. Compaq Customer support emails are no help. Can anyone tell me where to get a driver for the CDROM or how to get the PC to recognize one
