It worked. I had a sound card on a triangular board.Be sure to insert the speaker jack into the proper hole. Try all holes if you don't know into which.

I've tried this driver although it does not exactly match the no's on the trident chip which reads providea9685 acbb02 m8f79 9837tdhxi556DHS so i guess we'll see if it's a go

Really tough driver to find...not on Intel or any other site far as I can tell. This version worked but installed sound drivers for the quotvoice capablequot version My modem had no sound capability. However after hours of searching and trying 4 other 2meg DLs I was happy it dials out and connects. This one also installs a Control Panel icon that doesn't work and a QuickStart Icon that doesn't do anything. Thank goodness for the subitters ID of quotFA82537EPquot or I wouldn't have found this one. Thank you.
