I have been using Desktop PC since 1994 and up to now at our office home and our friends still using deskpto with Sound pro onboard.One of our friend reinstall Windows XP on his desktop PC and and the sound card doen't work. I don't know why all you are saying it doesn't work or you need some stupid Realtek software...I just used this driver on a system that I built from spare parts the only thing Realtek I have is the monitor... and this driver worked fine....you just have to remember to tell windows witch driver to use after you install it.
