After coinstalling W98 in my XP machine the integrated sound was lost. This driver proved to be the solution. Thank you for providing it.Installation was a breeze of course after decompressing the .rar file but that is explained nicely below the download station.

Had to be installed by first unpacking drivers to a file. Then go to Device managergtclick on devicegtpropertiesgtupdate driver. Then navigate to the driver folder. Windows advises that the driver selected has not been written spicifically for this device....Continue anyway...It worked for me.

Only reason for the downgrade of the install side was due to the final instruction after bootup gave one option yet I was presented with four.

I have downloaded this driver before on my other computer and it worked great. I recently got a new computer which runs Vista I'm trying to find a driver that supports Vista this one didn't work.

WOuld not work on my XP machine with the 600pg hitachi DVDrom.When clicking on the 'flash' button was told it would not work with this device.

Didn't work on my computer... but I also tried with the drivers downloaded from the Realtek's website and I sill get no audio.
