This driver is as good as any for the task of forced work on an cave archived system. It may well be the next generation of Windows may revive progman.exe which means quotoldquot may always be revived someway like chkdsk vs. scandisk and I will alway argue for backwards compat.

The driver was not the problem. Easy CD Creator v.5 amp WinXP do not get along at all. Uninstall does not clear the registry of all components and hosed up the CDRW. Found the answer by searching Microsoft Knowledge Base for the quotCode 19quot cited in Device Manager.

This driver works great in Compaq 7922 Presario. Win 98 Reports the card as Trident Blade3D MVP4 63. Took three days to find it. I actually found it on Via Technologies site myself and was going to upload it myself but found this instead

Tried on an HP version of this drive. It wont allow updating firmware. Prbably HP loaded special firmware that doesn't allow this update. Probably ok with standard unit.

originally i got the mirascan together with Textbridge OCR and Copier1.2 by bying an Acerscanner.Fine software on Windows 98 but now on Windows XP i got problems with the Textbridge part.There is a program insideinstant.access.exe which does not work at all in XP so what to do
