I tried this file on Emachine 766. I got the dreaded Blue Screen I had to format my entire hard drive. It was so bad I couldn't even boot under safe mode. By the way I have installed WIN 98se on this system. Those of you who have nothing to lose... try this driver.

Thanks Santo I've been searching for ages for these driversJust one note for XP users on my first try I installed XP Pro to a new ntfs partition then installed XP Service Pack 1.When I then tried to install the HP drivers run setup32 it all went ok but I had the old win2k problem with these drivers of endless plug and playTelling xp to not ask for drivers again was fruitless every restart it would run the hardware wizard again.The printer worked fine just couldn't stop the hardware wizardI also had a 'couldn't find script' error message after the first restart which I later discovered was to do with the HP registration wizard.I then trashed the partition and started again this time installing the HP drivers before SP1 and everything went without a hitch and I got the registration wizard with no error messages and NO MORE plug n play The only other oddity was that the printer was in device manager with a question mark on it still.I then ran update drivers on it pointing it to the HP drivers folder clicked off the XP nags and it copied a couple of files again then popped up another error message something about can't find file.This apparently happens with the older drivers and win2k and the readme says to just ignore this.Sure enough after clicking off the error the question mark disappeared and device manager was happy the printer printed Jetsuite opened ok and no add hardware wizards on restart I then installed service pack 1 and all is still ok.BTW earlier drivers for win3.x up to win2k with endless plug n play fixed can be found at www.public.asu.edumckens169x.html

Presario 2200 WinMe. I have tried every driver I could find and still no luck. By selecting the ES 1888 plug play driver I do get one sound beep upon boot up. But that's it. Any help would greatly be apprieciated. This system is going to be basicly for email but it would be nice to get the sound to work.Bakersfieldbro Yahoo IM me

The set up file wouldn't open I tried it on 2 different computers. When you double click on the setup icon it acts as if it's starting the setup and a blue screen pops up for a second and goes away. It does it every time.

I'm having the same problem with the driver it is missing files. is there any way to find these files. I'd certainly like to be able to use my printer

GREAT Comments are correct do NOT use the setup.exe file it does NOTHING This worked wonderfully on an emachine 500is. How's about some other Emachine users getting together to put together our own page of drivers since their tech support doesn't exist
