Not sure if it was your driver that does work but I have been trying to get the modem in my HP Pavilion to work. Went on HP's Dell and other sites for hours. I have an Agere chipset 1648CTV3 and almost gave up with no results until I started from beginning by removing the driver from Device Manager in Windows 2000.Then I ran this download and after my reboot I installed the Zoom V.92 driver and it WORKSSome people should mellow down. Maybe they are upset because they spent too long time with no OEM support. Patience is a virtue. Just by cussing on the Web makes no sense especially if someone is trying to help others.Good Job Justin

I have a Phillips PCA460RW and both Win2000 and WinXP. The CDReWriter functioned perfectly in Win98 with the supplied software with no installed drivers. I can only assume that drivers were temporarily loaded with the supplied software. However when on Win2000 and WinXP the supplied CDwriting software from Phillips was not compatable. Both Win2000 and WinXP automatically installed the generic CDROM.SYS driver for the PCA460RW and because of this any third party CDwriting software saw it only as a CDROM drive.After many failed attempts to fix the problem and hours of research I have finally found a solution.The standard that was developed for IDE devices ATAPI makes them look to the system like SCSI devices hence allowing them to work through the ASPI Advanced SCSI Programming Interface. So I downloaded and installed ASPI drivers from a link on this page www.goldenhawk.comide.htmI also needed to enable ATAPI devices in my registry so they could use the ASPI interface.Startrun regeditI modified the value of the ExcludeMiniports key under the following registry node HKEYLOCALMACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesAspiXNTParameters If ExcludeMiniports then ATAPI devices are enabled.If ExcludeMiniportsATAPI then ATAPI devices are disabled.After making these changes and rebooting every 3rd party CDwriting software I have tried has recognised my PCA460RW as a CDwriter under Win2000 and WinXP. I dont use Win98 any more. It's too unstable unpredictable and I am sick of General Protection Faults. And I wont even try WinME Mistake EditionOne important rule before making any changes of this nature to your system make backups of any files you are changing so if it doesnt work you can put your system back to the way it was before you started.Good luck. If you are running Microsoft software most likely you will need it.Audilf
